The Universe Goes On
In the middle of the universe, I stand
Holding fresh, new starlight in my hand
It is magical, sublime, captured out of time
Everything stretches on, all the Master’s rhyme
Traveling faster than the speed of light
Passing by another galaxy so bright
Galaxies by the billions they abound
Everywhere I look, they are all around
All types and shapes that you could think
There’s spiral and elliptical and pink
Each one magnificent beyond compare
And life is surely teeming everywhere
Could we ever find the end, are there more
Faster, faster, let us find what’s in store
Suspended rest went for forty years
Awakened by machines we voiced our fears
Speeding by the galaxies we look far
We can’t see what is behind, all is black
On we go, to where, we can’t go back
More galaxies and stars abound ahead
We’re running into light, that’s what I said
The beauty unsurpassed in timeless light
So far out here beyond all day or night
Nebulae and dust clouds, starlight story
Pass a million galaxies in this universe of glory
