The Unicorn and the Sticky Asphalt Jungle
"The Unicorn and The Sticky Asphalt Jungle"
Bedtime stories
now walk through fog
The Unicorn skips
on lines of sticky Asphalt
The father writes his play
The mother seen as absent
becomes deus ex machina
she will be the only one
to save the day
Along The Road
Bushfires burn the Heart
A Child like a River runs along
Butterflies, boilermaker, face mask
immune
low tolerance
genetic inherited
she is smart, she is strong
Fast, and glistening and bright
she shined through the open door
a Xanadu Zephyr who went looking for
the missing stars at night
Distance drawn by strangers
Written out of the story by defamers
in the Sticky Jungle
where the asphalt on fire prickles soft heels
bitten by blood
feet breathe and run through the
glowing screen's broken glass
and rusty nails crucified is the Invisible
in the muck
what isn't seen -
the true crime glorified;
Is blood thicker than water?
One will see,
The Story
is in
The Victory -
not the fails;
Hardened souls
are cast iron steel made
Folding their cards
they stand strong
Machine gun shooting
with their silver bullets
the Devil
all along
no deals
are done
silence speaks
volumes
The Daughter
Stands strong
Along
The Road
Bushfires burn the Heart
A Child like a River runs along
Fast, and glistening and bright
the door was open
she went looking for
the missing stars at night
Distance drawn by strangers
Written by defamers
in the Sticky Jungle
where the asphalt prickles soft heels
Marshmallow
soft and of no real substance
Nutrition in stories
fed through the reals
to the child
all in fairness
love in spoonfuls
of honey
she feels her feels
the attention
is in the details
A daughter loves a daughter
she feels her feels
Valued medicine
swallowed with
LOVE
in time
Saved
Delivered

“A Prayer for The Wild at Heart
A prayer for the wild at heart
Kept in cages
I know how you long
To run wild and free
To feel your blood pumping
To hear your heart beating faster
Yet you can’t
For you are locked inside a prison
One that you will never escape
I can hear your howls of pain
And your growls of frustration
Pacing back and forth
Clawing at the bars
Tearing at your skin
Begging to be set free
Your eyes are wild of full hate
Your face bears no smile
Only a snarl of anger
Blood drips from your hands
Blood from the people
Who didn’t understand
Your fearful whimpers fill the air
As you look to the full moon
And let out a mournful howl
Your voice gets louder
As I and the others join in
We let our pleads fill the night
As we sit in our cold cages
Praying someone will hear
