The Unhappy Tree

A high rise leafless tree, with vast branches, looks courageous, bears bad and good, tolerates torment, still stands straight Yet,it's not happy It anticipates birds, butterflies and bees But no butterfly nudges and no bee kisses. Anxiety increases,it cries and languishes, Not aware of reason A small shrub, with very few leaves, looks majestic, and ever smiling, braces the most beautiful daisies. It's so happy Butterflies and bees encircle the flowers. No rivalry, they shared the nectar. Ecstasy increases,it's at the height of bliss. It doesn't need a reason The leafless tree envies the daisy plant, yearning for the valuable reason. Answered by the eternal blue sky, "Happiness embraces you when you are ready to embrace it back

I like the contrast between the tree and the shrub, Supraja. The answer lies in the end line; love and happiness are available to all, but it's our attitude which can bring them out into the open. Truly enjoyed this poem. Regards // paul

that last line says it all. To have all that beauty and not embrace it back is so sad!! I really like this, Supraja.
