The Underdog
cat
looks to you for
a steady feed
occasional scratch
vague companionship
nothing more-nothing less...
you're not his friend, you're his pet
the times you're at your pinnacle
is the time he's somewhat less...
when your deep into your blueness
is when he becomes quite oblivious.
cat
wishes for your demise
his goal is simple (with iron paw)to rule the pride
but size and numbers are not to his advantage
he'll bide his time he's patient-wise,
As you become
to loving
to suffocating
to dull..
to heavy
like a bored lover he'll split
with only silent explanation..
leaving behind his artwork
on the cherry wood headboard
and a masterpiece in the litterbox
cat
doesn't care if he's busted your heart
or obsess about his whereabouts
he's always held a grudge because of:
the castration
the declawing
the confinement
the prisoners mash...
out in the hard world of the vagabond
you've made cat
the heavy
underdog
