The Twisted Church Candle
I noticed that the candle was not straight
It lit the altar but was twisted and quaint
The sermon to my ears sounded so faint
To my eyes, the church candle was not straight
A Christmas congregation in candle light
Our bodies in obeisance, backs upright
chorus singers in tune with octaves eight
Yet the Church candle I knew was not straight
We waited in patience in queues till late
To receive the blessings to change our fate
To help us prepare for the pearly gates
Still in my mind, candle was not straight!
A day in church for some holy inspiration
distracted, lost to the candle’s angulation
On reflection candle light was divine bright
I should have just ignored it wasn’t straight!
Admire the good in others and ignore the defects
Overlook the faults in them, and find them perfect!
