The Twelfth of Never
I once secured a mortgage loan, never noticing the date on the statement.* I was concerned about securing a down payment and an affordable payment.
The interest rate was one to die for, it seemed; and the house was both a steal and a dream.
The steal allowed the house to be affordable, and the dream made it incredibly adorable. .
The four words were right before me as plain as day.
It read, "Last payment due on "The Twelfth Of Never". It was as if I was signing so much of my life away.
When I finally took the time to analyze things, my tight-fitting head became filled with steam;
To-die-for interest rates became a never-dying nightmare of a never ending story, and putting the cart before the horse
in pursuit of a house has brought me far too much worry.
So I bid you beware of deals that look like a steal. Be wise to read the details before you close the deal.
And beware of that God-forbidding 'Twelfth of Never', because it can pain your life for what seems forever.
