The Turning

What happens when the monster eats you whole?
The vicious beast lurking deep within your soul

The reason you’re afraid of the dark
The reason your aim never stays true to the mark

You become one with the wretched furious beast
You grow horns and bare your fangs spawning forth from the blood feast

So sweet the anger and despair of your darkest hour
Roaring out into your cavernous mind scattering your thoughts, watch as they cower

Evil is as evil does
You are no longer the mind that was

Controlled by this bestial rage
The guards lay dead outside its broken cage

Relentlessly stalking the halls
Spraying crimson across these god forsaken walls

Devouring logic and destroying reason
Tonight you horrible creature, you’ll commit the highest treason

Beware the broken man and the demon he’s become
Don’t turn your back on the monster inside, for you and it are one
