The Truth Stood Downcast In the Lie

The truth stood downcast in the lie
My eyes tried to whisper
But my tongue was tied
Because he loved my sister

He asked me to introduce them
The truth stood downcast in the lie
He was my heartbeat and my friend
My heart ached, I was about to die

Their love grew and blossomed
Two souls prancing in bliss
The truth stood downcast in the lie
Twinge in my eye, I tried to dismiss

They took their wedding vows today
He was handsome in tux and tie
Wished them a world of happiness
The truth stood downcast in the lie
