The Truth Stood Downcast In the Lie
The truth stood downcast in the lie
A trial’s day, gloom settles here
Tycoon sponsors did all but buy
The man’s conviction let us hear
Who knows what happened? Only two
The truth stood downcast in the lie
One is dead, the other’s debut
Standing here, witness, yet ‘bad guy’
What a pitiful way to die!
Detective’s work was cast aside
The truth stood downcast in the lie
Death will be cast, as noose is tied
The man steps up, he’ll take the hit
The gun shoots once, his end is nigh
For the crime he did not commit
The truth stood downcast in the lie
