The Truth Stood Downcast In the Lie

The Truth Stood Downcast in the Lie

The truth stood downcast in the lie
Could not quite fathom reason why
Rolled off the tongue as if was true
Believed was right what else to do?

I hung my head began to cry
The truth stood downcast in the lie
Wish I could take those words back in
Do not know how I would begin

Meant nothing by that little white
Knew I could never make it right
The truth stood downcast in the lie
I'm so embarrassed I could die

Was my mistake I take the blame
Admit I did it give my name
It will be okay bye and bye
The truth stood downcast in the lie
