The Truth

Bottom line
This is genuine
Alcohol was his thief of time.
I heard him say
It took all of mine.
His body is now in decline
His mind has trouble dealing in real time.
It sends a chill
Down my spine
To realize he gave up his free will.
The wife went away
His children are filled
With hearsay
Which he has never disputed up to this day.
The sad part is he still
Is learning how to behave.

Alcohol is indeed a thief. Nicely penned, Bette.
