The Tree Is Stronger Than the Man
Forget the desert
I'm talking tree versus our best
in Natural Excellence
in all sorts of conditions
In this province, we have droughts
Tree sends roots deep for its own
Not complaining, feeling up or down
Simply accepting, standing like a sentry in town
Standing tall even as insects do their worst, sucking & burrowing
Never minding thousands upon thousands of - MOSQUITOES!
Never having to swat, or use spray like "DOOM"
I've seen the fiercest storm bypass The Tree, like Buddha unmoved
Through flood and drought, Tree offers shade & fruit, or flower
While man protected by glove & tools & net
Robs every forest no longer with ancient ax & sweat
But with metal & chain, saw & avarice, slays The Witness
