The Treadmill of Life

How fragile is the thread That bears the weight Of Who I am Is it not true? My greatest strength is my deepest fear Will I ever be complete? How far must I run? On the treadmill of life Before I realize That I have lost the race In reality Losing the race Has gained me the victory For I now fully understand It matters not Who wins or loses All that truly matters Is who we help along the way

Trying to set our selves as examples, especially for the younger ones that look up to us and trust us. Values and morals are not inherited they are taught and we as adults have become way too lenient on what goes on around us, Blessings, Ron

It seems everything is a race now days...run, run, run, and what difference does a few minutes make, we must slow down, and realize this journey will not be forever here on this earth, but the truly wonderful journey will be at the end....this poem is excellent in the message as well as the warmth it radiates. Always, Christy

Many thoughts come to mind with this write. You always lose something when you win, and win something when you lose. It is the journey that matters, and no, it is not a race. Too many in a hurry to get nowhere. This is indeed thought provoking, but you have got the answers you need, and you know they are the right ones. Love, Shar

Ah, a didactic masterpiece! I've been in the parade, in the race for 79 years, and understand exactly what you mean. Great write, Mike. Love, daver
