The Travellers

THE TRAVELLERS

A hamlet,
no larger
than a miracle,
lies before us.
A dream,
crouching uncharted
under a sea
of night sky,
unexpected
but welcome.
The sea of night
parts its waves
revealing a moonlit path
through to desert sands.
And I
lead my companions
closer to it,
lest the day dawn
and the dream fade.

While the fear
of Pharaoh’s chariots
floods our hearts.

I am in the middle of studying Exodus right now , so I feel like an expert for a change with regards to that particular book of the Bible. Love this, Pascal

Arthur, you have a vivid imagination. The poem is about Biblical times, but I'll post one for the present day. Thank you for your comment.
