The Trail

Would I follow a track
strewn by magical leaves
as shades of autumn
from life’s vivid colours,

Can I coax to influence time
to stop just for a moment
in my joy to look back
at the miles I have walked,

Ponder over footpath perils
I have crossed all alone
to obligations, some attained
others committed but incomplete,

O! Inevitable death is there an option;
excellence, beyond this circle of rebirth!
