The Town That Sleeps Before Me

This town is getting old
It lays to rest at dusk and rises after dawn
It gets quiet
The trees may speak but have nothing to say
They just breathe a sigh of exhaustion
The grass yawns
There’s not much to do in this old town
It’s hardly ever awake
It might as well stay in bed.
