Notes About The Poem

The Time I Loved the Earth

So many times I held my breath
hoping the moment would not come to an end.
But the moment always ends as the next begins.
The only time this world may have been lovelier
was the first time I saw you.
When I turn my eyes to Heaven,
all time is stilled.
We do not measure time in moments,
we measure time with our experiences.
Wrapped in the perfection of each moment
there is no other way for me to see this world
but through the eyes of love.
Hearts connected to the place they know
will lift their face to answer.
It has always been thus,
When someone calls your name all flowers turn
to face another sunrise in the morning.
