Notes About The Poem

The Three Ages
In the future, not too distant,
though mankind was non-existent,
an AI boy did what they do best
to the classroom he addressed
a history report.
A metal cylinder, he was a sight.
every knob and flashing light
enlightened the class of little snots,
all of which, of course, were bots.
Behold his history lesson:
There were three eras on this planet,
from when people to when AI ran it.
The first "Witchcraft", followed by "Normality"
(in keeping with academic formality).
Can you guess the third?
Right! The third era was AI,
before we made all the people die,
but, let's take it from the top,
when witches on a broom or mop
reigned supreme and held sway.
A regular person in days like those,
was clueless about things under his nose.
It took a witch to understand,
the workings of the harvest and the land.
using entrails and bones.
They weren't too rational, those days,
but they'd send you straight to Hell's red blaze
if you'd question the basis
of their decrees, audacious -
(or they'd turn you into a toad).
Later than the witchcraft age,
when normalcy ascended the earth's stage
people could easily understand
most things. They said, "Oh, isn't this grand?!"
(a short lived era, but happy)
Indeed, it is no fallacy,
that humans liked the age of normality,
before they said tech became unhinged,
and discourteously impinged
on understandability...again.
But, history, of course, progressed,
to the AI age, clearly, the best.
Each poem I write is a wisdom pearl.
I can write about a beautiful girl -
I just wish I could kiss her lips.
