The things we love

I want you to be happy, so how could I be mad at that? I’m wishing you the happiness me and you could’ve had. And I’d give you my heart a million times again, Even knowing this is the way it ends. It’s a shame we can’t change the past, ’Cause now I’m thinking of all the ways I would’ve made it last. I’d take your hands into mine and tell you I really love your laugh, And that I love you for all that you are and all that you’re not. Not a day goes by when you’re not in my thoughts, But I guess it’s a little too late for that. The sad truth about letting the things you love go Is sometimes they don’t come back.
