The Things They Don'T Tell You
No one tells you but growing up sucks.
As you get older the lemons don't make lemonade anymore.
So you end up drinking straight from the lemon.
There is no sugar to mask up the bitterness.
Life long friends move away, people turn their backs
and your not forgiven for your mistakes.
The wounds that you previously applied
band aids too reopen and need to be re-soothed.
Sometimes it starts to look like your losing
more than you gain.
You lose trust in people because when you
were young and trusting they slit your innocence away.
You began to lose that carefree personality.
People start to tell you quit being so mad all the time.
Yet you keep pushing forward up this uphill mountain called life
anyway.
You don't want anyone to know it but your so afraid
of the future and things always feeling this way.
You have to be strong on your on, stand on your own
two feet because sometimes that shoulder never comes.
You lean on yourself, even though that's impossible.
These are just some of the things that they don't tell
you about growing up.
