Trifolao: The traditional Italian term for a truffle hunter.

Brûlé: The distinct "burnt" or scorched patch of land around a host tree where grass and other plants fail to grow because the truffle mycelium inhibits them.
Marks: Small cracks, raised bumps, or surface changes in the soil that act as visual clues indicating a mature truffle were nestled beneath the soil.
