The Test
weathered and battered slowly crumbling
away
built to withstand the strongest storms
Foundations were set six feet deep
years gone by trying to hold up to the test
of time
broken and beaten by the wind and the
rain
piece by piece slowly toples away
once was a mighty barrier now nothing
more than a feeble memory
lost an abandoned never to be restored
just a little love and compassion each in
every day would have been enough to
preserve for future generations to desire
