The Terminal Mind
The Terminal Mind
Death are you my friend
leading me to a better place?
Or a ruler, who entices with the promise of peace?
Fantasizing, you become a lover,
a skilled mind reader.
You work hard to perfect thoughts
of how you'll be missed,
Dare anyone chase you away.
No reason for you to hide
from scrutiny and judgement.
You are unnoticed by all but a select few.
In your club, a membership without dues
From your house you hold out your hands
and smile Welcome Home.
Your grasp is easily taken,
no fear or threat exists.
Shushing all will be better.
Is it faith that is found?
A kiss so gentle close eyes.
Led day, after night, after day.
The hours grow shorter,
the minutes much longer.
Life support fails,
I awaken into the mute world beyond men.
