The Tears Stop
The tears stop
One day you just run out
Your eyes go dry like the desert
One day you drown in them
Every other word breaks the floodgates.
The next it's a dying river
The tears stop
Yet, you can see still the stains
Never to be washed away
Because you sit on the Edge
A dam breaking at the seams
But both sides are empty
The tears stop
But you aren't done crying
You aren't nearly Okay
You're just too broken
You've already snapped.
The tears stop
Because the crackling seems like nothing
It's nothing compared to the shatter
The tears stop
And your eyes are sore
You can't forget they're there
Your eyes feel the tears
Never to come
The tears stop
For now
They'll be back
The day you break again
The tears stop
Today
But it never ends
Not until it all ends
