The Tears of the Ashen Sky
The Tears of the Ashen Sky
Sadness sniffs me out through the wasteland where flowers cry tears of stone,
life shows its crystal fangs wounding my soul like a silver blade,
love calls us to the altar with garments woven from ash and lunar blood,
the days flow like black molasses through my fingers trembling with loneliness.
My soul is torn by sinful tears that fall like hot meteorites,
it got drunk on violet ash and the fragrance of roses rotting in the air,
longing sways like a lost bride in a dress of smoke and nostalgia,
awaiting its love in a world with sharp teeth and eyes of transparent ice.
The sky cries mercury tears over moments scattered like sand through the wind,
shattered illusions float like burst balloons in the heavy atmosphere of melancholy,
the moon cries with its pale porcelain face over the sunken astral love,
only unspoken dreams remain wrapped in magical silver spider webs.
The stars die like tired fireflies in the vast indifferent and cold sky,
who cares anymore if you're the man or the beast wearing masks of melted wax,
there's no sign of forgiveness in this world with a granite heart and plaster fingers,
everything is a beautiful illusion painted with watercolors melting in acid rain.
Hope whispers with a silken voice: "Come, come tomorrow to try again",
life calls you with hands of smoke to step once more on the path of thorns,
you gather yourself from your own ash like the Phoenix bird with wings of burned paper,
you step slowly into the eternal illusion that swallows you like a mouth of brilliant abyss.
The years pass like ghost trains through the stations of my soul tired with pain,
you believe again in people with wax hearts that melt at the first flame,
but you have no one to tell that love is sacred like a temple of jade and tears,
that it's not of translucent ice or stone sculpted in shapes of regret.
The sun sets like a bloody orange in this evening of black velvet,
everything unravels like old embroidery and silence presses like a blanket of lead,
why dream of a better world when it curses you with its mouth of acid,
it eats you like a plague with diamond teeth and its poisonous saliva of honey?
Why be good and believe in people with fragile and cold souls of glass,
to extend your hand full of wounds toward their hearts closed with iron padlocks,
why soothe the pain in people when your wing breaks from indifference,
when the world floats like a poisonous jellyfish in the deep ocean of despair?
