The Teacher

The Teacher 1. I've made mistakes that could fill books, Held on to the good days with all the hooks, Crooks, and age descents. I told my family you were better than the present, To grip their rightful resentment. "Scott is a work of art, tedious yet deserving of patience." Please, I lie with ease. 2. I call you twice before you respond, Gaze stuck towards the window, Wishing the dark skies were a blonde. I stand outside while you shower, Carrying your cell. I chuckle lightly, one day I will find you gone. Yelled when I brought up the texts and images. If sweet talks fail, gaslight—it always works, yup. 3. "My thoughts are too complex for your age," funny, You never believed so when you trapped me in your flexible cage. My skin curls, Attending to you is a must; My mind will hate otherwise. Can't let you run off with another underage__ Girl 4. Kiss my hair during a storm, Haunt my dreams, memorize her favorite poems. In a closet, mate her. Say I am yours when the lights are dim, And you are no longer the emperor of your mind. In a fit of rage, baby, you say, "I lost you." It's funny, 'cause I try so hard to recall when I actually had you. 5. Time stops every time I see you, In bliss or blithe, I want to kiss you. You swat your face every time, then smile. Even through a tinted window, you are still see-through. 6. Known to the world as the girl who made mistakes That created a vast library. Still, on the highest shelf, Inside the prettiest and largest book, lies the biggest of all in scenery— You. Handsome and lethal 7. In my grave, after everyone has left, The sky shedding our forgotten tears, While you and her kiss on the hood of your car. I will, in my grave, the casket you bought and she cried, Say with eyes shut tightly, skin blue, my family was right.
