The Taste of Freedom

We, whose parents gave us that first taste of freedom, Who took such joy in our newly found freedom, Who put a curfew on our freedom, Who took us to the right shops to buy our freedom, Who taught us how to work out the cost of freedom, Who bled, for our freedom, Who taught us not to forget others when thinking of freedom, Are the most fortunate of creatures who have never lost, The joy of that first taste.
