The Sunset

After breezy hours
of a beautiful day,
there comes a time
when the sun fades away.

Before vanishing away,
laying its bright glare to rest,
it stares the horizon
in silence from the west.

The seagulls dance
in its rays through the clouds,
over peaceful waves
while soaring in crowds.

Slowly dusk darkens,
casting shadows over the bay,
as the evening star
ends another day.

This read is like gliding through light fog. The mist dampens the brow and the words settle on paper like feathers. -Alan
