The Sun and the Moon - List With a Twist

The Sun -- he was just happy to shine
The Moon -- all she could do was whine

The Cause -- Both the sun and the moon shone so bright
The Effect --  There wasn't any room for the night

The Offer --  The Sun said, "I'll be glad my shine to diminish"
The Reply --  The Moon harrumphed, "I'm keeping my dazzle to the finish"

The Winner -- God said to the Sun, "You can stay just as you are"
The Loser -- He said to the Moon, "You rule the night; I'll give you some stars"

The Moral -- Be happy with whatever you've got
The Un-Moral -- Don't try to be what you're not

Carolyn Devonshire March 9, 2021 at 9:49 AM Perfect ending for this excellent "Life with a Twist" poem, Gershon. There is a Jason Mraz song in which the moon has to borrow light from the sun. Your verse reminded me of that, though here it's God who gives the moon some stars to help light the earth. Great entry for Charlie's contest! Best wishes for a great win.
