The Sun and Stars

For Ron



                         With eyes closed
                         you said hello
                         to the sun and stars
                         and all beyond.

                         With your last words
                         you left behind numberless stories
                         of your worldly ways
                         for those who would stay.

                         With your last breath
                         you took to winds
                         of your destiny
                         your eternity.

                         With your passing
                         you eased out of a frail body
                         into a heavenly spirit
                         and aspirations of another time.
