The Summer Rain
Dark clouds gather in the sky
like thousands of elephants
moving closely in a battlefield,
and as they clash, the negatives
against the positives, the sky
reverberates with the sound of
incessant thunder punctuated
by the intrusion of blind-folding
silvery creepers of lightning,
And in the distant woods, the
pea-hens come out and throw
their wings made of feathers
of amazing hues of blue and,
slowly begin their ecstatic walk,
resembling the one in a beauty
pageant show; but here in
Nature's open theatre under the Sun,
Far from the 'madding' crowd,
the walk transforms soon into a
scintillating dance -the Peacock Dance
as it is called, and lo to the glorious tune,
Called by the singing blue-black cuckoos,
perched inside the bushy trees of the forest;
And there emanates soon the smell of fresh earth
perfuming the air, with a heavenly fragrance.
That goes with the arrival of
The Season's first shower-
The Welcome Summer Rain
.
