The Strangers In the Sky
The strangers in the sky
Have you ever sat back on a plane and thought, what if it fell from the sky?
If all of the people survived, but the aircraft could no longer fly
Do you look at the people around you and think, how would you cope with the stress?
Which of you people would step up and who would just be a mess?
You look at the guy with the champagne and think, would you be too drunk to care?
And then look at the lady who’s crying, before the plane has gone anywhere
Would the guy who looks like he’s a follower, step up and take charge of the scene?
Or will he let others take over, pretending it’s all been a dream?
What would we have to contend with? Deep wounds and then severed limbs?
But also the injuries we can’t see, the ones that are deep down within
Who will show the most empathy? Who will be straight down the line?
And who will pretend they are okay, when really they’re not doing fine?
When you look around at these people, with perception of how they appear
Do you wonder what each one would be like, when confronted with terror and fear?
You probably won’t ever know them, your paths never crossing again
Your destiny’s different directions, you won’t even find out their name
These people are just strangers to you, just sat altogether to fly
But think how you would get to know them, if the plane were to fall from the sky
