The Stranger
I wandered lonely as a stranger
in many ways, in many places,
trying to sway the pierce of danger
in lonely rooms and empty spaces,
trying to pass the sand of dune
to freely sing a fabled tune.
I've been through storms and rugged mountains.
I've been through deserts and troubled seas.
I've tried to tame the raging fountains
to have my share of elusive peace.
I rode the wind to the skyline seam
to reach the anchor of my dream.
I tamed the pounce of flying dagger.
I dodged the spear that hunts my heart.
I fainted not, nor did I stagger.
I've torn the tides apart.
I did it all to seek my fate
with all my strength and all my faith.
