The Storm In My Soul

The storm in my soul
still aches for you
as I hear the roll of thunder
whispering bittersweet truths.
As the darkness looms over head
it creates chills down my spine.
Memories in my heart
play on constant rewind.
Confusions sets in
as I long for inner peace.
Still waiting for answers,
for the sunshine to release.
For I know that the light
can chase the storms in my soul.
Can bring warmth to these chills
and fill this deep dark hole.
As brightness takes over
and feeds my hope for this life.
My dreams are revealed
and vicious fear is denied.
As I gather the strength
and travel down life’s endless road.
I look to the horizon
and embrace the beautiful unknown.
