The Star People

It was only when
the Star People came in
that things got nasty - overthrown.
Ideals became forgotten,
and the starlings did not sing.
We hated all the Star People ...
wished to kill them one by one.

And they were killed;
killed by our bullets
aimed towards their breasts.
Women and children were not spared:
we hated them to death.
Only now do the starlings start to sing,
for we didn't - my god - leave anything.
