The Spring Cometh

Bare winter trees begin to grow;
driving around, I watch nature's show.

shafts of light among taller, barren trunks
dogwoods blossom, a herald
as the woods come to life

Raindrops chase raindrops by design
and April beckons a flash flood.
The muddy streams now fill their banks,
daffodils and Bradford pears bud.

bird nests sporting eggs
yards gussied up for Easter
resurrection nears

I appreciate and value your remarks, Tania. It is truly four poems in one; each could stand on its own foundation. I welcome your comment very much.

Congratulations Reason! Your poem earned a distinguished place in my contest, this contest had 36 poems entered and yet your poem rose to the top ten, you should be proud of your placing, this was a difficult contest to judge, but your poem caught my eye, well done my friend, Emile.
