The Spotlights on You

It's such an endeavor, to be so in love
There's a song in our hearts.. that reaches out for us
And I know that my words..... will never be enough....
But the spotlights on you.. when it comes to my love

I'm more of a writer, I don't often sing songs
But what was, still is....., it's held on for this long
And I can't change these feelings.., no matter how wrong....
For the love of a woman, no man is that strong

This song is for you....as I sit on this stage
Looking out on the one......, for whom this song plays
Each verse and each rhyme...., every phrase and new line....
Holds a message for you...., to your heart from mine

You make me so happy, I hope you realize...
As those joyous teardrops.., stream down from your eyes
From the man on this stage..., your love can't be replaced.....
And no distance or time...., could ever erase

If I could ask for something..., could my purpose be
To meet you in Heaven..., for eternity
These feelings belong here..., just not in this way....
I'm just a man in the spotlight..., a singer on this stage

I sing this for you..., as I sit on this stage...
The burden of proof..., is what I just played
To confess you my love..., to be honest and true
To tell you I love you....
