The Sparrows On the Patio

Curious bird, feathers ruffled
hopping and bouncing all around
looking for any sign of crumb
that may have fallen to the ground.

Curious bird, happy chirping
relentless scanning for some food.
She finds herself a small helping
of bread to suffice her mood.

Curious bird, small and sleek
cutting through the sky with ease.
You embody my entire desire;
My wishes to fly away; So free.

Curious bird, curious me
the epitome of an emboldened mind
take with you my heart, scarred and strong
For a body is a shell to be left behind.
