The Southside Shuffle

On the southside of Chicago,
where my baby, laid me down.
Flew "fireworks," from El Dorado,
it was night life, on the town!

Liquid lust lingered, in the dust,
with the starlight, all around.
As a man, "I'll do," what I must,
to keep sweet baby, on the ground!

Rocket ships, "roared red" cross heaven,
that's where heaven, laid her down.
dreampt sweet dreams, of "this," since seven,
on the southside, of the town!
