The Soundless Drum
THE SOUNDLESS DRUM
Countless times you have been beaten
But you refuse produce the faintest sound
To the eager waiting dancers.
Of what use are you when you are soundless?
Of what use are you when no one
Can dance to your melody?
The ones drumming you are sweating profusely
And the dancers are anxiously waiting in vain.
You are like a woman without a womb,
Full grown bride without breast,
A beautiful mansion without a roof,
A sleek car without an engine and a serene paradise
Without an ambiance of tranquility.
Oh! Soundless drum, when shall your sound
Wake up the slumbering giant in us?
