The Sound of Thunder and Fireworks

Dogs ears are sensitive
So a crack of thunder
Or fireworks hurts their
           ears
Their eyes look scared
They are afraid and hide
Running under the bed

Every long weekend
Fireworks does happen
The dogs get scared
The noise is very loud
Hiding until the sound
Is all over

Imagine what it does to the other wildlife; people's furry, feathered and finned family members. Think of the vet bills incurred, not to mention the medical and psychological bills for humans. He just sits there calmly while we hear them outside going off from everywhere. That is weird, huh? Anyway, I enjoyed your poem. We had dogs in the past who went nuts from hearing fireworks. This world is loud, I'm afraid dogs have it rough when it comes to things like fireworks, I used to have a dog, and she hid too, She passed away a few years ago.
