The Sound of the Train

The sound of the train
as you left me that day
without even looking back
It is a sound that will echo always
As the train rolled down the track

As I walked home in the rain that day
I remember the sound that it made
It made the same pitta pat sound
As my broken heart, as I walked down the lonely street

The song that I heard when I got home that day
I remember the words quite well
But now I wish I could forget
It was a song we used to enjoy
An oldie from way back when
But now that my heart was broken in two
"Unforgettable" made me feel blue

awe, you captured the feeling of the broken heart perfectly. I like the way you threw in the worst moments to accompany such a feeling... enjoyed.. LINDA

Vividly expressed as it jerks the heart strings. Difficult to listen to love songs from an era connected to heart ache. I felt the emotion very strong here.
