The Sound of Silence

It’s deafening
All around
Nothing else is heard
As it isn't heard at all
It’s suffocating
And terrifying
Suspense grows
In the absence of sound
What might be seen
As peaceful at first
Is not so, as can be seen
Or rather heard, though not
The silence entraps you
In an eternal net
Captures you in its web
Forever stuck with your
Troubling thoughts that
Were also caught in the web
Trapped and alone with
Paranoia and anxiety growing
Unable to get out until
This world ends
The silence is deafening
And still after
The crash of
Something heavy
