Notes About The Poem

Alone

The Sound of Old Age

Her TV set is always on
but only for the noise,
she craves the sound of human voice
so she doesn’t feel alone.

Imaginary friends never let her down,
unlike the real ones that never come around.

I love this true/powerful write with a great picture. What a great/true line, "Imaginary friends never let her down." True and very sad for older people. "Good Luck" Have a creative day writing away...............

Wow, the last two lines. A child and old person have this in common. Just like when people seemingly talked to themselves..,were they from the future…who knows.

Now that I’m in my old age I find quiet disturbing.
