The Soul You Wanted

The soul You wanted 
A Hymn

I put my hand 
Over my heart
And say a prayer
To God above

May my faith
Always be strong
May Your strength
Help me go on

May my pain
Be healed by You
May my power
Always be true

May I be
The best I can be
May my life
Exemplify freedom

May I love
And care for all
May my deeds
Always bring You joy

May I be blessed
With grace and ease
May I be blessed
With mercy and meaning

May my hope
Be filled with light
May my faith
Be without sight

Lord, I ask for
So much of You
But I hope
I'm the good You choose

For I live
A life on Earth
The cross of man
Is mine to curse

For we are 
All mortal sinners
It makes our souls
Fight dark to win

One day when I
Am back in Heaven
I pray I'll be
The soul You wanted

For now
I pray each day
That You will guide me
On my way

My soul
Belongs to You
Forevermore
I'll feel in tune

My grace 
And appreciation
Are with You
And Heaven's Angels 

Thank you Father 
Thy art in Heaven 
For all I have
And all I am

My eyes closed
In solemn prayer
I feel Your presence
Everywhere

Thank you God
Thank you Heaven 
Thank you Angels 
For my blessings
