The Song of Melting
Beneath a sun, both bright and bold,
A scoop of sunshine spun from gold.
Creamy vanilla, a child's delight,
Melting slow, in the midday's light.
Sticky fingers, a sugary chase,
Laughter rings in this sun-drenched space.
Sweetness drips, a joyous song,
A fleeting pleasure, where none lasts long.
But wait, a flicker, a different glow,
A candle's flame, dancing soft and slow.
Waxy pearls, in rivulets descend,
As fragrant whispers, the heavens ascend.
No childish glee, but a tranquil hush,
A solitary flame, a gentle gush.
Warmth and light, a comforting sight,
Burning steady, throughout the night.
One melts in laughter, brilliant and brief,
A burst of joy then fades from sight.
The other burns, a steady guide,
Through darkness deep, where shadows hide.
Yet both surrender, to the same decree,
A fleeting form, what they used to be.
One a burst of sugar, one a pure fragrance,
Both a reminder, that beauty won't endure.
But in their melting, a lesson we find,
Embrace the moment, for peace of mind.
Savour the sweetness, the light's gentle sway,
For even endings, pave the way.
For life itself, is a flame that burns,
Bright and strong, then softly returns.
Live with passion, like the ice cream's embrace,
And find solace, in the candle's gentle grace.
