The Song In Me

Why take away my Daddy, Why this pain, why me? If I could go back in time I would say to the child Whose sad face was mine: But child don’t you remember How your Daddy loved you, always? Don’t you remember the happy days? Child the song of life has never really been away. It may be stormy outside But listen and you will find The ringing symphony Never-ending, eternity Your song, inside. Child let your spirit fly Soar high Sing The melodies that you bring.

Absolutely beautiful, Christy and so very true that there comes a time for all of us when we have to "parent" ourselves. I really enjoyed this and welcome to PoetrySoup!!
