The Song

A long time ago
battles raged across the universes.
The skies
once blue
and space
black
were filled with crafts of war.
Red and yellow fires
filled everything they could.

On a far-off planet
a boy and girl went outside
and watched the colors
and stray craft overhead.
Their parents watched and knew

to the children’s song.

The children sang on
until the soldier left.
The crafts above left.
The fiery skies became
blue and soft.
Men and women
remaining came out
and looked up.
The sun!

The children walked back
Hand-in-hand.
Their parents hugged them.
What was that you were singing?
They asked.
And they began to sing this song-
