The Solid Rock
Our world awaits and aches for a hope and a faith
void of hypotheses and freed from hypocrisies;
one detached from 'theories and maybe equations';
one whose God always works, 'in and outside the box';
one permeated with a God who answers prayer.
It craves and prays for a faith, not in decline,
but one that's real and shines like the sun;
one that gives to all and takes from none.
When I was young in The Christian Faith,
my heart was exclusive, and my mind narrow.
My Christian Faith was imprisoned by zealous religion.
I faced reality when I began to understand Spirituality.
There should be no haste to erase the faith
that we have long embraced. However,
many of the tenants of religion that we
have forever chased in our life's pursuit
of God are not worthy of our embrace.
It would be wise to face the truth and
release such traditions and contradictions
which, like a leaking flower vase, holds no
water but causes roses to wither and die.
It would be wiser still to place and base our
faith and hope on The Ever Enduring Solid Rock.
May we trust His Grace alone to save us and His
Holy Spirit to comfort, help, and guide us. May
our hurting world see the Christ in us and glorify God.
