The Snowy Month of January
Leafless trees are pathetic to see.
(When winter doldrums pervade.)
They flutter in the blurry flurry,
As if to, by a painter’s brush convey,
Waiting! For the season’s reversal
From Winter blues to Spring revival.
Covered in a hoarfrost icy sheen,
Beneath the moon, glaze the trees.
Across the landscape snow lays,
Covering tracks and pathways.
It’s easy to catch cabin fever
When from the view I derive no pleasure.
Though my heart cries out, “Recovery!”
In the snowy month of January.
